Ms Belinda Willcocks Ms Willcocks has worked as an Executive officer within Commonwealth Government Departments for the last ten years. In joining the National Centre for Legal and Preventative Services, she has developed policy on Indigenous legal assistance, such as the selection of service providers and a rationalised policy framework establishing consistent directions for legal representation. She has investigated application of mainstream legal aid reforms to Indigenous-managed legal services. In addition she is working on the networks to be developed by the Centre for a whole of government approach to social justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as it applies to legal representation. Prior to joining ATSIC Ms Willcocks worked on national environmental and heritage policy, including the area of environmental education, with a particular interest in social justice and education for sustainability. Her background is in education and communication. |
