MR RICHARD MOORHEAD

Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London. A qualified solicitor, formerly practising in criminal defence work at the Business Crime Unit of Irwin Mitchell, Sheffield. Researches in the fields of quality assurance in legal aid work, the regulation of legal services, the legal profession and legal education and as well as associated ethical and human rights issues. Currently researching: the Community Legal Service Partnerships and Beacon Councils (for the Department of Environment, Transport and the Regions); reform of pre-action behaviour under the Civil Justice reforms (with Goriely and Abrams); and the Public Defender Service in England and Wales (with Bridges, Cape and Sherr).
