G ANDREW CARNSON

G Andrew Carnson, LLB, MSc, Chairman Legal Aid Committee in Northern Ireland. Andrew is a solicitor in private practice in Northern Ireland. He is a Law Graduate of Queen's University of Belfast, having graduated in 1969. He was enrolled as a solicitor in Northern Ireland in 1972 and established his own legal practice in 1974. He joined the Council of the Northern Ireland Law Society in 1983 and became a member of the Legal Aid Committee in 1984. He was President of the Northern Ireland Law Society in 1993/94 and was appointed Chairman of the Legal Aid Committee in December 1999.

In his private activities, he has an interest in mental health, sailing and railways.
