Ms Margaret Allison

Margaret Allison was appointed Managing Director of Legal Aid NSW in October 1999. She has many years' experience in the public sector, the majority of which has been in the community services field. Margaret has held a range of executive positions in the Queensland public sector since 1987, holding leading roles in the social policy, juvenile justice and disability fields. She held a senior position in Legal Aid Queensland from 1996 - 1998. Most recently, she was in the position of Deputy Director-General, Department of Families Youth and Community Care. Margaret was awarded the 1999 Telstra Business Woman of the Year, Queensland, in the Corporate and Government category.
