J van Dijk (born 12/11/1947) is the Executive Director of the Legal Aid Board, The Hague. The Legal Aid Board is an independent administrative body (ZBO) that is responsible for the organisation and supervision of the government-funded legal aid. He studied sociology at the University of Utrecht. From 1972 till 1976 he was a member of the scientific staff at the Institute for Sociology of the University of Leiden. From 1976 till 1986 he was the Executive Director of the School for Social Work in The Hague. After this period he was, until 1999, a member of the Executive Board of the Haagse Hogeschool (a institute for higher professional education). As of March 1999, he became the director of one of the five Legal Aid Boards in the Netherlands, that is, in the Hague. |
