Noel Synnott

Noel Synnott is Principal Officer of the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, and joined the Department of Justice (responsibility for Equality and Law Reform were added to the Department's remit in 1997) in 1969 and has worked in a number of Divisions of the Department, including the Divisions dealing with policy matters in relation to the Gardai (Police), Prison building and the Courts. He was promoted to the rank of Principal Officer in 1995 and currently leads a Division which deals, among other things, with policy in relation to the provision of Civil Legal Aid.
